Saura Weekly Updates - December 16, 2018

Thank you to everyone who purchased Winter Raffle Rush Tickets and congratulations to our winners.  You can check out the drawing on Facebook.  We also enjoyed Paint Night sponsored by the South Stokes Band Boosters last night.  We appreciate the support of our Saura community and hope you will participate in more opportunities to win great baskets during second semester.

The Board of Education met on Friday afternoon and set the following make-up schedule for the missed days this past week.  Thursday, December 20 will now be a full student day, Friday, December 21 will now be a student day with an early dismissal at 12:30 pm. January 22, February 15, and February 18 will also now be student days.

Band and Chorus Concert

Due to the bad weather last week, the band and chorus concert will now be held on Thursday night, December 20 at 7:00 pm in the auditorium.

Supporting the Sauras

Krispy Kreme Cards
We only have a couple of Krispy Kreme Buy One/Get One Dozen Free cards left.  The cards are $25 and will help you save over $60 on these sweet treats!  Cards are available in the main office.

Yearbook Information!
Information about senior ads went home this past week.  There are several sizes for families who want to purchase a spot in the yearbook to commemorate their child's achievements.  You can also design the senior ad online at www.yearbookforever.com.  Ads are due by January 11.

Yearbooks are still on sale for $65, but will go up in price to $75 after first semester exams.  You can purchase a copy at school or online at www.yearbookforever.com.  Be sure to reserve your copy now before the price goes up in January.

Get ready for the ACT!
All juniors will take the ACT in February.  This test measures college readiness and may be used for admission into four-year colleges and to help students place into courses at the community college.  ACT now has a free ACT Academy that allows students to sign up for an account and follow a personalized study plan to help prepare for the college entrance exam.  Research shows that students who practice for these tests tend to improve their scores so I encourage students to take advantage of this resource.  See a counselor for additional resources as well.
