Saura Weekly Updates - May 17, 2020

Congratulations to the Class of 2020!

Seniors began filming our virtual graduation this weekend in case we are not able to have a traditional graduation on June 5.  We enjoyed seeing our seniors and look forward to watching them graduate on June 5 whether virtually or in person.  A special thank you to our Saura Community for sharing our seniors' success with signs throughout town and words of encouragement!

For senior filming appointments:

Graduates may bring up to five family members with them to the event.  Please plan to arrive at the time of your appointment and bring the following with you:

Cap, Gown & Tassel
Chromebook & Charger, Calculator (if ready to return)

If applicable:
Jiffy Pass
Books from library
Textbooks
Uniforms (sports)

Please plan to be on campus for about an hour.  We suggest males wear a white collared shirt with a tie or bow tie and females wear a dress that does not show at the collar of their gown for best pictures.  We look forward to celebrating with you!

Either the student or their parent/guardian must be present to pick up a yearbook.

If you would like someone else to pick up your yearbook for you, you must contact Ms. A Smith beforehand in order to make sure that all of the books go to the right place.

AP Exams
AP Exams are underway.  Students are strongly encouraged to complete the Demo a couple of times before their exam to practice uploading answers.  AP students should contact their AP teacher or Mrs. Cheek if they have questions about AP exams or need help with making arrangements to test.

Remote Learning Continues Through June 3, 2020
Please continue to encourage students to log in and complete assignments through the remainder of the school year.  Most of our high school courses build on one another and/or contain content students will need later in the workplace or college.  If students or families have questions about the coursework in a class, please contact your teachers.  Our teachers all want students to be successful during this time of remote learning and will be glad to assist you.  You can also call the school between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm Monday through Friday and we will be glad to assist you.

As remote instruction continues, be sure to reach out to teachers if you need assistance.  You can find email addresses for our teachers on the school website's staff page.

A complete list of where teachers are providing instruction can be found is on our website under Remote Instruction Information.  If students are unsure about how to check their email, information about how to log into all student accounts can be found in the Saura Tech Center recently created on our South Stokes website under Students.

Need paper materials?
We know some students have little or no access to internet.  While we prefer students get materials online as we are able to communicate with them more easily live, if students have limited access to remote instruction, please call the school and talk to administrators about paper/pencil options for students.

Ms. Gallimore and I are usually in the office at school from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm Monday through Friday if you would like to call for more information 336-994-2995.
