Saura Summer Updates - June 14, 2020

Summer Enrichment
Students have not been in the school building in a while, and we all know how important it is to always keep learning.  Our teachers have put together lists of suggested activities students can do this summer to review, explore, and enjoy.  Check out their suggestions: doing a couple of activities each week will help students be more prepared for the upcoming school year.

Attention Athletes:  Summer Workouts
Stokes County Schools will use the two weeks in June (15-19 & 22-26) to educate our coaches and student-athletes about the procedures and expectations set out by the NCHSAA.  The health of our student athletes and coaches is extremely important to us and we want to make sure we have plans in place with the required social distancing, sanitizing procedures, and supplies needed before having students workout.  June 27 - July 5 is a "dead period" with no workouts allowed.  Our student-athletes may begin summer workouts on July 6, 2020.  Coaches are reaching out to student-athletes to let them know about plans for July.  If you need a coach's  contact information, please contact Mitch Adams, Athletic Director, at mitch.adams@stokes.k12.nc.us.

As we receive workout schedules, we will add details to the Summer Workouts List.

You can view all of the NC High School Athletic Association's guidance regarding summer workouts online at https://www.nchsaa.org/news/2020-6-8/nchsaa-summer-guide-reopening-sportsactivities.

Chromebook Collections

Students should return Chromebooks, chargers, calculators, and other school materials this week.  The office will be open 7:30 am until 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday.  Please call the school and let us know if you need assistance getting materials back to school and we will work with students to get items returned.
