Schedule for September 21-25

This week, the schedule for on-campus attendance is

Monday, September 21 -  Last Names A-K ("A" Day)
Tuesday, September 22 - Last Names A-K ("A" Day)

Wednesday, September 23 - Last Names L-Z ("B" Day)
Thursday, September 24 - Last Names L-Z ("B" Day)
Friday, September 25 - Last Names L-Z ("B" Day)



The calendar for "A" Day and "B" Day students can be found in the Stokes County Schools Relaunch Plan.  These dates have also been added to the South Stokes calendar as well.




Reminders about Plan B
Students returning to in-school instruction should review some of the changes they will see on campus.  

  • Bus transportation (will need attestation form and mask)
  • Student drivers - park in front lot in numbered spaces (no permit required at this time) and exit vehicle and enter school when you arrive
  • Breakfast (free for everyone)
  • Where to report when arriving at school (the main lobby will not open until 7:30 am; report to 1st period at 8:00 am)
  • Social distancing (don't gather in groups, maintain space between students)
  • One way hallways (follow the arrowheads)
  • 3rd Period begins at 11:40 am
  • Lunches (delivered to classrooms - eat with 3rd period MENU)


School Pictures
School pictures for underclassmen and senior makeups will take place in October.  The schedule can be found below.  Please note, there will not be a makeup day for underclassmen, so students who would like to be pictured in the yearbook will need to have their pictures made on one of these dates.

9th - 11th Graders

Tuesday, October 13
"A" Day Students (during 4th Period)
3:20 - 4:20 pm for Plan C students

Friday, October 16
"B" Day Students (during 4th Period)
3:20 - 4:20 pm for Plan C students


Senior Make-ups 
(last day for seniors who did not have pictures made during the summer to be photographed for the yearbook)

Wednesday, October 21

3:20-4:20 pm - "B" Day & Plan C Students 










Conference Week - September 28-October 2
Teachers are updating grades and talking with students about any missing assignments.  We invite you to reach out to teachers anytime you have questions, but are designating the week of September 28 as Conference Week.  Please contact teachers during their planning periods (posted below) with questions about your students' progress.  If these times are not convenient for you, please call or email the teacher to set up a remote or in-person conference.






Bus Information


Students boarding the bus will need to bring a signed attestation form each day.  You can get blank forms from your bus driver, in the main office or download a form HERE.   Please be patient with our drivers as they learn the new A Day / B Day routes.







Yearbooks on Sale!
Yearbooks for the 2020-2021 school year are now on sale.  The price is $55.00.  You can purchase yearbooks at school or online.  The link can be found on the school website under Students, click on Order a Yearbook.  Also, information about senior ads is on the school website.  Ads will be due in December.

Technology Assistance
If students are having problems with their Chromebooks, please submit a Tech Ticket on the school website and our staff will get in touch with you to help resolve the issue.

(teachers will announce lunch break during 3rd period)

Breakfast and Lunch
The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has extended the summer nutrition program through December 31, 2020 which allows all students to eat for free at school.  Students on campus will be able to pick up a free breakfast on the way to 1st period and lunches will be delivered to classrooms during 3rd period.  Lunches will be packaged and no extra items (chips, candy, soft drinks, etc.) will be available for purchase.  You can find the breakfast and lunch menus available on our website and at the following link:  SEPT LUNCH MENU.

Students working from home can still receive meals by picking them up at any elementary, middle or high school.  Elementary pickups are available from 10:00-11:00 am and Middle and High School pickups are 10:30-11:30 am.



Parking Permits
Applications for parking permits will be distributed once all students are back on campus.  While we are under Plan B, student drivers may park in any numbered spot in the front parking lot.



Sports Schedules
This week the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) announced a plan for shortened sports seasons which will begin in November.  The amended sports calendar can be found below.  We will be adding the South Stokes sports schedules to the South Stokes Calendar soon.  Contact coaches for information about any scheduled workouts.
