Schedule for December 21 - December 22
This week, the schedule for on-campus attendance is
Monday, December 21 - 3rd period state exams
Tuesday, December 22 - 4th period state exams
The calendar for "A" Day and "B" Day students can be found in the Stokes County Schools Relaunch Plan. These dates have also been added to the South Stokes calendar as well.
Exams - Fall 2020Fall semester exams are going well and will conclude this week. State exams which include CTE Post-Assessments and End-of-Course Tests are required to be administered in person. Other courses with teacher-made exams will be administering exams remotely to students who are not exempt.
Testing is occurring in small groups of students to help provide for social distancing during the exam periods. All students (including those on Plan C - All Remote Learning) who are taking courses with state exams should make plans to attend school on the day of their exam.
Exams count 20% of students' final grades. If you have questions about whether your courses have state exams, please speak with your teacher. Information about exams can also be found in students' Homeroom Canvas Course.

On-campus exams will be administered from 8:30 am - 12:20 pm. Students who would like to leave when the building is finished testing should bring a note Teacher made exam details will be provided by students' teachers.
Students who need bus transportation on exam days should let their teachers know so we can make sure you are on a route for exam day.
Second semester will begin on Monday, January 4. Students were given second semester schedules and can view their schedules in PowerSchool. Their second semester teachers will email a link to their Google Meets the weekend before second semester begins and teachers will spend the first day of class introducing students to their courses including how to navigate their Canvas courses. Please review schedules for next semester and contact counselors with any questions.
Students who have been Plan C - all remote learning - who are interested in returning to in-person learning for second semester are welcome to start attending on their designated days.
The next Driver's Ed class will be held January 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 and February 1 from 3:30 pm - 8:30 pm in the auditorium at South Stokes. Registration will open Monday, December 7 and close January 6. Class size is limited and oldest students are served first. Don't forget to reserve your copy of the 2020-2021 Yearbook! Yearbooks will be delivered during the summer and will include most of the spring events. Find information about ordering on the South Stokes website on the Order the Yearbook page under Students.

December 22 February 5 (Date extended!).
School Calendar UpdatesMarch 12 will now be a regular instruction day (change from a remote only day) due to the remote learning day on December 16.
Athletic Boosters Cash Giveaway - March 2021
The Athletic Boosters are making plans to hold the $10,000 Cash Giveaway that was originally scheduled for March 2020. After the meeting this past week, we have rescheduled the event for March 27, 2021 in hopes that we can have a similar event as in the past.
The Athletic Boosters have some Saura apparel for sale. Like the Athletic Boosters' Facebook page to see the items available. Send a message to let the Boosters know what you'd like to purchase and they will make arrangements for pickup. Thank you for supporting the Sauras!

Reminders about Plan B
Students returning to in-school instruction should review some of the changes they will see on campus.
- Bus transportation (will need attestation form and mask)
- Student drivers - park in front lot in numbered spaces (no permit required at this time) and exit vehicle and enter school when you arrive
- Breakfast (free for everyone) available on the breezeway near the library
- Where to report when arriving at school (the main lobby will not open until 7:30 am; report to 1st period at 8:00 am)
- Social distancing (don't gather in groups, maintain space between students)
- One way hallways (follow the arrowheads)
- Lunches - free for everyone (delivered to classrooms - eat with 3rd period MENU)
Sports schedules have been add to the South Stokes Calendar and are aligned to the shortened seasons announced by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA). The amended sports calendar can be found below. Contact coaches for information about any scheduled workouts.

Spectators at sporting events will be limited due to mass gathering guidelines. Only spectators with player passes will be admitted. Home events will be broadcast over Facebook Live or on the South Stokes YouTube page and we will try to make sure as many away games are broadcast as well. Watch social media on game days for broadcast information.
