Tiered Transportation Survey
Our district is considering changes to our current transportation plan.  Please be sure to complete the Tiered Transportation Survey on our school website by Sunday evening, April 18, to provide feedback.



Prom 2021

Event: Junior & Senior Prom

Theme: Dancing in the Moonlight

Date: Saturday May 8, 2021
Time: 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Location: Mike & Dale Farmer's Cabin
1051 Dillard Rd. Walnut Cove, NC 27052

Tickets: Tickets are $15 each. Tickets will go on sale from Monday April 19 to April 30 online if you wish to pay with credit/debit. The link for online sales will be on the Prom page of the school website.  Tickets will go on sale from Monday April 26 to April 30 in person if you wish to pay in cash. 8-8:30 am in F1, 3:30 - 4 in F2.


You may pick tickets up on May 6 or May 7 in the office from 8-3:30. Please bring your ticket and photo ID to prom to get in. This includes all inside and outside dates.



Senior Updates

AWARDS DAY, GRADUATION, and MORE!
The senior picnic will be Tuesday, May 18 - additional details to come.

Awards Day and Talent Show are scheduled for Friday, May 21.  Seniors and parents and guests will be able to attend the in-person event.

Graduation is scheduled for Friday, May 28, 2021 at 7:00 pm!  Under the latest executive order we will be able to hold a live graduation outside at the football stadium.  We currently expect each graduate to get 6-8 tickets, but the final number will be determined based on the mass gathering limits as defined in any Executive Order in place at the time of the event. 

Graduation practices are scheduled for May 26 and 27.  Seniors MUST attend graduation practice to participate in the ceremony.  Seniors should make plans now to attend!

Spring Exams 2021
Exams will be given May 25-June 1.  Students should make sure all Chromebook keys are working and report any technology issues to Mrs. Himmelspach or Mrs. Campbell.  State exams which include English 2, Math 1, Math 3, Biology, and many of our Career and Technical Education courses will be given on campus in person.  Teacher made exams will be delivered remotely.  School will dismiss at 12:20 pm on exam days.



Art Show
The Stokes County High School Arts Show will take place at The Apple Gallery in Danbury the month of April.  Be sure to go by and check out our talented students and support the arts!  The Apple Gallery is located at The Arts Place, 502 N Main Street, Danbury.




Yearbook Updates
We have a limited supply of yearbooks still available for purchase.  If you want a copy of the 2020-2021 edition, be sure to order yours very soon!  Personalization is still available, but  the deadline for personalization is Friday, April 16.  You can order yearbooks online on the South Stokes Yearbook page or at school.  Contact Alyssa Smith with questions (alyssa.smith3@stokes.k12.nc.us).


Technology Assistance
If students are having problems with their Chromebooks, please submit a Tech Ticket on the school website and our staff will get in touch with you to help resolve the issue.









Sports Updates

Sports schedules have been add to the South Stokes Calendar and are aligned to the shortened seasons announced by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA).  The amended sports calendar can be found below.  Contact coaches for information about any scheduled workouts.  Thank you for supporting our Sauras!

School Nutrition Information
Breakfast and lunch will continue to be free for all students through the remainder of the school year.  The program will soon begin offering extras for sale in addition to distributing the meals.  Students must receive a meal before being able to purchase chips, snacks, cookies, and extras.  Students will only be able to purchase extras if they have money or there is money on their accounts.  No charging of extras will be allowed.  You can view your student's lunch account and add money to accounts at https://www.k12paymentcenter.com/.  You can also view the menu for the month on the Stokes County School Nutrition website.
