Saura Weekly Updates - May 2, 2021

 



Spring Exams 2021
Exams will be given May 25-June 1.  Students should make sure all Chromebook keys are working and report any technology issues to Mrs. Himmelspach or Mrs. Campbell.  State exams which include English 2, Math 1, Math 3, Biology, and many of our Career and Technical Education courses will be given on campus in person.  Teacher made exams will be delivered remotely.  School will dismiss at 12:20 pm on exam days.







Prom 2021

Event: Junior & Senior Prom

You may pick tickets up on May 6 or May 7 in the office from 8-3:30. Please bring your tickets and photo ID (outside dates) to prom to get in. 






Senior Updates

AWARDS DAY, GRADUATION, and MORE!
The senior picnic will be Tuesday, May 18 - additional details to come.

Awards Day and Talent Show are scheduled for Friday, May 21.  Seniors and parents and guests will be able to attend the in-person event.

Graduation is scheduled for Friday, May 28, 2021 at 7:00 pm!  Under the latest executive order we will be able to hold a live graduation outside at the football stadium.  We currently expect each graduate to get 8 tickets, but the final number will be determined based on the mass gathering limits as defined in any Executive Order in place at the time of the event. 

Graduation practices are scheduled for May 26 and 27.  Seniors MUST attend graduation practice to participate in the ceremony.  Seniors should make plans now to attend!

Driver's Education
The next driver's education class will be held June 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 14 from 8:30 am - 1:30 pm at South Stokes in the auditorium.  Students must have been born on or before December 7, 2006 to register.  You can register on the Driver's Ed page of the school website.






Yearbook Updates
Online sales for yearbooks will end on May 21.  In-person sales may continue, but with limited quantities remaining  We have a limited supply of yearbooks still available for purchase.  If you want a copy of the 2020-2021 edition, be sure to order yours very soon!  Personalization is still available, but  the deadline for personalization is Friday, April 16.  You can order yearbooks online on the South Stokes Yearbook page or at school.  Contact Alyssa Smith with questions (alyssa.smith3@stokes.k12.nc.us).

School Nutrition Information
Breakfast and lunch will continue to be free for all students through the remainder of the school year.  The program will soon begin offering extras for sale in addition to distributing the meals.  Students must receive a meal before being able to purchase chips, snacks, cookies, and extras.  Students will only be able to purchase extras if they have money or there is money on their accounts.  No charging of extras will be allowed.  You can view your student's lunch account and add money to accounts at https://www.k12paymentcenter.com/.  You can also view the menu for the month on the Stokes County School Nutrition website.
