Saura Weekly Updates - January 27, 2019

Although we were only able to get three full days in this week, second semester is off to a good start.  Please be sure to monitor grades and attendance throughout the semester and contact teachers with any questions or concerns.  We also have a conference night scheduled for Thursday, February 28 from 5:30-6:30 pm to provide an opportunity for you to speak with your child's second semester teachers.

As Dr. Rice shared in his phone messages, schools were directed to shelter in place on Friday due to a concern for schools across our region.  During such an incident, we limit movement around campus and increase supervision throughout the school.  Although there was no direct threat to any school in our district, we take all safety concerns seriously and students and staff did a great job following instructions and procedures during the shelter in place.

Students should stop by and see their counselors to pick up results.  Also, sophomores will receive their Pre-ACT results with their report cards.  If you would like to know more about what these scores mean about college readiness, contact a counselor or bring your results to Parent/Teacher Conferences on February 28 and speak with a counselor or administrator.

2nd Semester Conferences & Planning for 2019-2020

Saura Weekly Updates - January 20, 2018

Thank you all for your help in making this past week successful!  Students were at school on time for exams and we have very few students who will need to makeup exams next week.

Monday will be a holiday for students and staff before we return to school on Tuesday for the start of second semester.  Students will report to homeroom when the bell rings to get copies of their second semester schedules.

PSAT & Financial Aid Night
Thursday, January 24 counselors will be holding a floating workshop from 5:00-7:00 in the media center. Seniors and their parents that still need to file their FAFSA application are encouraged to come. Remember to bring 2017 tax returns and W2's for both parents and the student.

Sophomores and Juniors that took the PSAT in October will be able to pick up their test scores and test book. A brief presentation will be held at 5:00 and again at 6:00 about how to interpret those scores and what student next steps are.
