Saura Weekly Updates - April 28, 2019

It was an extremely busy week at South with all of the second graders in Stokes County visiting South for Farm Animal Days, several athletic events,.  Thank you to everyone who joined us Saturday for  our Spring Fling and Farm Animal Community Day.  Be sure to check out all the events coming up in this week's Saura Weekly Updates below!

Registration for 2019-2020
Ninth, tenth and eleventh graders received course verification sheets in homeroom on Friday.  Please ask to see your child's registration sheet if you have not already.

1. Carefully review course selections for next year.

2. To make any change, simply cross through the printed course and write the new course next to it. Class options are on the back.

3. The form must be returned with student and parent signatures by Tuesday, April 30. Even if they make no changes, all forms must be returned!

4. If they have questions, students need to speak with their counselor (Sawyer - 10th grade; Spargo - 9th & 11th grade)

5. Forms can be returned to the counseling office or 1st period teacher.

Charlotte's Web
The South Stokes Theatre Department will be performing Charlotte's Web this week in the South Stokes auditorium.  Students have worked hard on the show and it is sure to be a delight.  Performance dates and times are below.  Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students and children.  Be sure to come out and support your Sauras!

Prom Tickets
Prom tickets are on sale through May 3.  You can purchase tickets before and after school in room F1.  Tickets are $35 each and may be purchased with cash only.  All school fees must be paid before students are allowed to purchase prom tickets.

Cheerleading Tryouts
Cheerleading tryouts for the 2019-2020 school year will be held Beginning May 6.

Tuesday, May 7 - 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm Tryouts

Spring Raffle

Be sure to purchase your tickets for the Saura Summer Celebration Basket that are now on sale.  Tickets are $1 and the drawing will be held on May 18 at the Saura Community Yard Sale.  The basket includes the following:

Saura Community Yard Sale
The Sauras are holding a community yard sale at Southeastern Middle School on Saturday, May 18, 2019, from 8:00 am until Noon.  If you have clothing, household items, furniture or other items like the ones listed below and you would like to donate for the sale you may drop them off before school from 8 am - 8:30 am or after school from 3:30 pm - 4:00 pm.  All proceeds will help purchase instructional supplies and make campus improvements.  If you have questions about donations, contact the school at 336-994-2995 and speak to Amanda Campbell.

We're looking for...

CLOTHING: Ladies, mens, kids, children’s, baby, purses, belts, ties, wallets, dresses, shirts, pants, shoes. Virtually all types of Clothing, Shoes, and Accessories.

HOUSEHOLD: Dishes, glasses, silverware, small household appliances, bedding, linens, pillows, draperies, curtains, rugs, jewelry and cosmetics, comforters, home decor, baby items, art and frames.

TOYS: Stuffed animals, board games, dolls, action figures, and sports equipment.

ELECTRONIC: Stereo, radio, Xbox, Nintendo, Playstation, computers, laptops, monitors, DVD players, cameras, typewriters, and electronics. All types of small kitchen appliances. Televisions are accepted in most areas (excluding California and Pittsburgh). We can accept flat panel, LCD, LED & Plasma televisions. We’re sorry but we cannot accept older CRT, DLP or tube TVs.

BOOKS: Hardcover, softcover, fiction and non-fictions, e-readers.

EQUIPMENT: Exercise equipment: small weight benches, weights, sports gear, Sporting equipment: ski equipment, snowboards, helmets, baseball bats, basket balls, soccer equipment, tennis equipment, Tools: drills, saws, nail guns, Yard tools: lawnmowers, weed eaters, and hand trucks (no fuel of any type please!).

SMALL FURNITURE: Mirrors, nightstands, headboards, and office chairs.

OTHER: Bikes, musical instruments, small filing cabinets, garage sale leftovers, small appliances: microwaves, blenders, toasters, coffee makers, and almost anything else.
