Saura Weekly Updates - September 22, 2019

Congratulations to our newest Beta Club Members!

It is hard to believe we are almost half way through the first quarter of the school year! This week we are hosting a conference night on Tuesday from 5:00 - 7:00 pm.  We encourage you to drop by that evening to get an update on how your student is progressing this semester.

Congratulations to the sophomores who earned a five minute break during homeroom on Friday for being the grade level with the best attendance for the week!  Regular attendance is crucial for success and we appreciate your support in reinforcing the importance of being in school on time every day!

Fall Family Conferences

Carpentry 2 Students
Families and students are encouraged to attend our Family Conferences for fall semester classes on Tuesday, September 24 from 5:00-7:00 pm.  Teachers will be available in their classrooms that evening to share about students' progress for the semester.  This is also an excellent opportunity to learn about the curriculum in courses.  Feel free to drop in any time that evening to meet with teachers; no appointment is needed.

We also encourage you to check your student's progress in PowerSchool.  You can set notifications to receive text messages or emails about grades and attendance as well as see individual assignment grades and more.  If you need assistance accessing your child's account, contact the school and speak with Mrs. Jill Tuttle.

Update Student Information
SnapCodes and links to update student information have been distributed to
families.  Please review your student's information and make any necessary updates as soonas possible to help us keep our records up-to-date.   Enter your SnapCode at the Returning Student link HERE.  New students who have already filled out paper registration forms for this school year do not need to complete the online registration.  If you did not receive a SnapCode, please contact the school and speak to Jill Tuttle who will be glad to help you with the code.

Fall Family Conferences

Families and students are encouraged to attend our Family Conferences for fall semester classes on Tuesday, September 24 from 5:00-7:00 pm.  Teachers will be available in their classrooms that evening to share about students' progress for the semester.  This is also an excellent opportunity to learn about the curriculum in courses.  Feel free to drop in any time that evening to meet with teachers; no appointment is needed.

"Here Comes the Bus" App
We have been told the "Here Comes the Bus" App data has been updated.  Hopefully you can now  track your bus in the morning and afternoon if your child was originally on the bus route.  Students who were just recently added to routes may not be updated yet, but should be up-to-date soon.

Chromebook Pick-up
Students who have not picked up their Chromebook are encouraged to pick them up as soon as possible.   Students and parents/guardians who have already had training at South Stokes are not required to attend another training, but all students will need to turn in an updated Chromebook Agreement Form (last page) and the insurance/maintenance fee to receive their devices.  New students and their families may schedule training by contacting Mrs. Himmelspach or Mrs. Campbell in the media center.  The Chromebook Agreement Form (last page) and $25 insurance/maintenance fee are due at time of pick-up.  If you would like information on a payment plan for the insurance fee, please contact Mrs. Cheek.
