Saura Weekly Updates - April 4, 2021

Spring Break

Spring Break is this week and students will return to class on Monday, April 12.  When we return there are only six full weeks of class before exam week.  Please continue to monitor students' grades and attendance during this time and encourage students to attend school each day and complete all assignments.
The spring will be packed with events, so be sure to watch the school website, our social media pages, and weekly messages for updates.

Plan A Updates

Please help us remind students that masks covering the nose and mouth are required on campus both inside and outside. We appreciate you helping us maintain as safe and respectful learning environment as possible!

Beginning April 12, we will no longer be asking screening questions, but will be taking temperatures when individuals enter the school.  Students who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, have been exposed to a positive case, or who have been told to quarantine should not report to school and contact the Stokes County Health Department and the school office for information about a date to return to school.

Student Drivers
Parking permits were distributed to most students who had applied for a permit before spring break.  Other students who need to park on campus should return their paper form when they return.  Students who park on campus who have not applied for a permit are subject to ticketing.  Tickets are $10 each.

When students arrive at school, they should report to the main entrance if it is before 8:00 am or to their 1st period classroom beginning at 8:00 am.  Students who arrive at 8:30 am or after must report to the main office for screening before being admitted to classroom buildings.  Please help remind students they should not hang out in the parking lot during the morning and are not supposed to go to cars during the schools day.

Bus Transportation
Attestation forms will no longer be required when students board buses in the morning.

Students who may need bus transportation should call or email Mr. Tedder 336-994-2995 or so we can add these students to our routes and provide pick-up and drop-off times.

Other Reminders:
  • Breakfast (free for everyone) available in the cafeteria from 8:00-8:30 am.  Second chance breakfast will be available on the sidewalk near the library at 10:00 am.
  • Where to report when arriving at school (the main lobby will open at 7:30 am; report to 1st period beginning at 8:00 am)
  • Social distancing (don't gather in groups, maintain space between students)

  • Lunches - free for everyone (picked up from the cafeteria during 3rd period MENU)
